Cantor Raechel Rosen

Raechel Rosen is a musician, songwriter, producer, and a liturgical vocalist for Jewish communities. She majored in music at LaGuardia High School and Wesleyan University and is currently on the cantorial path at ALEPH: Alliance for Jewish Renewal. She was born and raised in New York City and has been living in Woodstock since 2020. She is excited to be serving as a cantor for the WJC in the coming year.

Focusing on: service leading, lifecycle events, community engagement, and pastoral care.

 

Certified Interfaith Chaplain Julie Makowsky

Julie Makowsky is a Jewish educator and board certified interfaith chaplain who has lived in the Hudson Valley for over 15 years. Julie serves the larger community as a chaplain for Hudson Valley Hospice which offers care to those in need in Ulster and Dutchess counties. Julie’s role on the clergy team will be to offer spiritual and pastoral care services to the WJC community.

Focusing on: pastoral care, lifecycle events, education, and service leading.

 

Rabbi Ellen K. Triebwasser

Rabbi Ellen K. Triebwasser was ordained by ALEPH: Alliance for Jewish Renewal in 2018. Before that, she received ordination as a maggid (sacred storyteller) from Maggid Yitzhak Buxbaum and certification as a spiritual director. She also completed Rabbi Shefa Gold’s Kol Zimra chant leader training. Rabbi Ellen is looking forward to working with the clergy team to continue offering meaningful services and study opportunities to the WJC community.

Karen Levine

Karen Levine is a 20+ year member of the Woodstock Jewish Congregation, with a long history of participation and leadership. She looks forward to collaborating as part of the clergy team in the next year and expanding her role as a service leader for the WJC community.
