The Woodstock Film & Discussion Series continues its 11th Annual Season on Monday, February 27th at 7pm.
This event of the 11th season features a short video by Homegrown National Parks co-founder and NY Times bestselling author Doug Tallamy that may inspire you to change your lawn into wildlife habitat.
After the video, Georgia Asher will describe how Woodstock Pollinator Pathway is turning inspiration into action to restore pollinator habitat in Woodstock and surrounding communities. Georgia will also introduce Lena Faustel, representing the Natural Resources Defense Council who will be on screen to explain how neonicotinoid pesticides are decimating populations of bees and other pollinators and having negative effects on wildlife and humans. She will talk about the Birds and Bees Protection Act, at bill before the NY State Legislature to restrict the use of this pesticide. A postcard writing party to ask NY legislators to sign this bill will also be announced.
